A final post from last weekend in Wisconsin: While my grandma lives in the Twin Cities she still owns this little farm house sitting on 40 acres outside the crossroads that is Longwood WI. The farmhouse was built over 100 years ago as a home for a hired farm hand. Later my great grandparents retired to the house, living there for several years. Recently the home has been a weekend destination for my grandparents. The huge basswood trees that surround the house provide incredible relief from the summer heat. Just sitting in a lawn chair under the trees watching the world go by. Here in the country the world goes slowly, horses and buggies roll by driven by the Mennonites that now own many of the farms in this part of Clark County. The weekend was wonderfully relaxing, away from TV and internet, and just the incredibly quiet sound of the country.
