Wrapping up a series of posts from my project with Performance Today at the Aspen Music Festival and School, here are images from the Snowmass rodeo.
One of the goals for the PT team's coverage of the festival was to really look beyond the music at the festival grounds, and to try to convey a real sense of of the whole experience of summer in Aspen. One of the most uniquely Colorado things in the summer, the Snowmass rodeo.
Surrounded by snow-capped mountains, the weekly rodeo draws from the whole area. We traveled there with a conducting student, to record an interview with the rodeo soundscape in the background, and I tried to capture the full western experience of the rodeo. I loved the timeless mood that black and white processing brought to these images.
