I'm excited to share the first of two recent commercial projects today.
The Twin Cities area can definitely feel like a small town at times. This project developed out of a tweet from Trevor at Space2Burn after another photographer suggested my name. On the phone we realized we met a year earlier at a happy hour. Space2Burn had a one page ad in the the upcoming issue of Bike Magazine, and needing a photographer to help to create their vision. Space2Burn is a small design and web development company that specializes in websites for the bicycle industry. With an office of just three people, Trevor thought of the idea to use a crazy custom triple tandem bicycle from The Alt. Meeting the Trevor, Andrea, and Jon, at their office, our initial plan was to photograph the bike winding along one of the dirt trails along the Mississippi. However, it turns out a triple tandem is much harder to ride than expected, even for experienced cyclists. So instead we rode the few blocks down to Minnehaha park, finding a quiet path in the evening sun. I've wanted to share since I saw the final ad following the shoot, but wanted to wait until the magazine was on the newsstands. I'm traveling to DC this week, and it was fun to be able to pick up a copy of Bike in the airport and find the ad in the middle of the photo section in Bike Magazine's 20th anniversary edition.
