The State Fair marks my anniversary working at The Current, when three years ago they called me to help film a couple of the performances at the MPR booth. This year the MPR booth has a packed schedule of musicians visiting and performing throughout the whole fair. Braving the heat today, Frankie Lee came out and performed with a small stripped down band with JT Bates on drums and Jeremy Ylvisaker playing bass. And it was only appropriate Ryan Young of Trampled By Turtles joined on the fiddle as TBT was the first band I filmed for The Current. Its inspiring to look back and see how far my photography and filmmaking has come in just the last three years. I'm proud of the photos I made today. I'll always capture the peak action on the microphone during the performance, but its these little moments off of the stage that really tell the story of the day, and I that I'll enjoy looking back at in the years to come. Here's to another year doing work I love.
