I've been slowly posting photos from last month's trip to Colorado, but now its finally time to post the main ski images. This was the reason we were in Colorado. Just 20 minutes outside of Salida is Monarch Mountain. Its an awesome little mom and pop ski slope with a nice small lodge, five lifts, and incredible snow. Two days before we arrived Monarch got 18+" of snow, and another foot the night before our first ski day. In many ways the skiing was so good I sometimes forgot to pull out my camera. I've posted a collection of photos from throughout our week at Monarch. We had a few bluebird sky days, and a few days of intense clouds, wind, and blowing snow – everything you can expect from winter in the mountains.
Normally I am just behind the camera, but when traveling with another photographer, I inevitably wound up in front of the lens too. Here's one of the great shots Teddy got of me:
